Joseph Hugh Moore

Joseph Hugh Moore, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2018 with his loving, devoted wife of 64 years, Jeanine, his daughter Linda Moore and son James Moore by his side after a long illness.

Born in New Bedford, he joins his twin sister Margaret Cushman, a sister Joan Beehan, brother James Moore, his parents, Hugh and Florida Moore. He leaves a brother, William in Darien, CT, a daughter, Anne Recco, Paul and Patricia Connolly. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Very proud to serve in Korea 1946-1947 as a military police in Army. A disabled veteran.

Graduated Providence College 1952, worked 30 years at Western Electric in Watertown as a supervisor of many departments including supervisor of the chemistry lab in Lower Manhattan NY. Retired, he enjoyed escaping 32 years, New England winters to FL on many cruises, Sea World and Disney Parks. He was an avid reader of wars, history and sports. Mostly enjoyed family travels all over the United States, boating, hunting, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, climbing Mt. Washington with family many times while camping. Towed a trailer to Cali with his 4 children and Jeanine, touring each state. Loved his family life. Very religious.

His family wishes to thank all that helped him, 20 ambulance trips, Fire Department rescuing many falls. The VA and rehabs, especially Bourne Manor for his long term care, Hospice with many helpers.

A visitation will be from 8:30-9:30am on Friday, Aug 10th at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Route 28A), West Falmouth. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy (Route 28), E. Falmouth. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 2:15pm with military honors.
