Joseph R. DeCosta

1923 ∼ 2018

Joseph R. DeCosta, 95, of New Hampshire, and formerly of East Bridgewater and Fort Lauderdale, FL died on September 28, 2018 at Nashua Crossings Assisted Living.  He was the son of the late Manuel and Elisa (Rocha) DeCosta.

Joseph was a WWII Navy Veteran.  He was an Executive Chef for Marriot and Red Coach, traveling all over the world.  He lived between East Bridgewater and Fort Lauderdale, Florida for many years before moving to New Hampshire.

He is survived by his son, John DeCosta and his wife Jeanne of Bedford; his stepdaughter, Dianne Myles of Florida; his grandchildren, Kim Reilly of Chelmsford, John DeCosta, Jr. of Nashua, NH, and Kevin Myles of FL.  Joseph is also survived by his great grandson, Caiden Reilly of Chelmsford. He was predeceased by his son, Robert J. DeCosta and his siblings, Eleanor Mello, Manuel DeCosta, and Jack DeCosta.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10 AM at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater.  Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
