June A. (Mackey) Stagliano of Mashpee, Massachusetts passed away peacefully and went to the Lord on Saturday, June 10th while at Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich, MA.
June was born in Medford, MA on April 17, 1928 to the late Edward and Caroline (Kelley) Mackey and was one of five children. June graduated from Medford High School and was the first in her family to go to college at Regis in Weston, Massachusetts where she majored in English. She was a model for Hanes Stockings and after college became a flight attendant for American Airlines.
On February 23, 1957, she married Michael R. Stagliano and was blessed with five children. She and Michael lived in Medford Massachusetts, Buffalo, Rochester and Yonkers New York. They then moved to Ambler, Pennsylvania, Solon, Ohio and Stamford, Connecticut as Michael continued to be promoted with Seagrams.
In 1997, they moved permanently to New Seabury in Massachusetts to live out their lives. Family, faith, and friends were very important to June. She was a devout Catholic and was a daily communicant and a Eucharistic Minister at Christ the King Church in Mashpee.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Caroline (Kelley) Mackey, her sister Ruth Mackey, and her brothers Edward and Richard, all of Medford, Massachusetts. Her loving husband, Michael R. Stagliano of Mashpee, also went to the Lord on February 13, 2001. June is survived by her brother Robert Mackey of Naples, Florida and she is also survived by her children, Mark Stagliano of Trumbull, Connecticut, Lisa (and Kevin) Mackey of Stamford, Connecticut, Michael (and Dawn) Stagliano of Twinsburg, Ohio, Susan (and Alec) Crabbe of Sandwich, Massachusetts and John (and Stacy) Stagliano of Summerville, South Carolina. June was also blessed with nine grandchildren; Michael Stephen, Mia Noel, Michael Matthew, Gianna Marie, Joseph Anthony, Megan Marie, Kathryn Nicole, Isabella Michelle and John Michael David and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may pay their respects to the family at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road in Marston Mills on Thursday, June 15th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 3 Job’s Fishing Road in Mashpee on Friday, June 16th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue in Bourne, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in June’s name to Christ the King Church, 3 Job’s Fishing Road, Mashpee, MA 02649, or “Katie’s Krops”, P.O. Box 1841, Summerville, SC 29484, a charity started by her granddaughter to help feed the hungry, or the National Autism Association, One Park Ave, Suite 1, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
