June R. Hammett

June Rose (Cerveny) Hammett, 91, of Falmouth died April 17 at her assisted living facility in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late David E. Hammett, her husband of 45 years and daughter of the late Frank and Julia Cerveny.

Born in Springfield, she graduated from Springfield Technical High School and worked for the Falmouth National Bank for many years. She was also co-owner of Dave’s Donut Shop in the late 60’s and 70’s.

June was a member of St. Barnabas Church for many years. She was an avid rose gardener, beach, and dog lover.

She was predeceased by her son Richard W. Godfrey and her first husband Richard B. Godfrey. Survivors include her daughter Diane Godfrey of Wareham, a sister Gloria Falcone of Holliston Mass, and her brother the Rt. Reverend Frank Cerveny of Jacksonville Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition she leaves her dear friends Ilish Holden of Maine and Regina of Canada.

Services will be private.
