Karen E. Matsas

Karen Elizabeth Matsas, 67 of Mashpee, MA passed away peacefully in her home on July 27, 2020. Karen was a loving Mother, Sister, Nana, Aunt, Grand-Aunt, and friend.

Karen graduated from Wayland High School in 1970.  She continued to work at a local preschool, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company until 1982 when she became a full-time mother and wife to Paul Matsas for 32 years. She was a long-time resident of Sandwich, MA where she started her family and raised her two kids.

Karen will forever be remembered for her bright and friendly personality and kindheartedness. She loved Cape Cod, the beach, animals, and a good book. But most of all Karen loved being a mother and grandmother. The cherished harmony of Karen’s many bangles touches our hearts and warms our soul.  She will be forever missed and always loved.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Matsas, and partner Gustavo, Jr., of Sandwich; her son Nicholas Matsas, of Yarmouth; her granddaughters Laci Pola, and Alivia Pola, both of Sandwich; her sister Carol Musselman, of Sandwich; her niece Stacie, and husband Josh; her niece Shannon; her nephew Jake Musselman; great-nephews Trevor Lewis and Tristan Collette; and great-nieces Samantha Collette and Taygan Lewis.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), Mashpee from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Interment will follow at the Sandwich Town Cemetery.
