Katherine A. Foley

1943 ∼ 2018

Katherine A. (Burns) Foley, 75, of Osterville, died at Cape Cod Hospital on March 5, 2018. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Foley Jr.

Born in Worcester, MA, Kathy was the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Anderson) Burns. A graduate of South High School in Worcester, she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Worcester State College.

Katherine was inducted into the Worcester Hall of Fame in 2013 honoring Worcester’s elite competitive athletes. She achieved accolades for Tennis, Basketball, and Field Hockey, and was voted Most Athletic Female of 1960.

Katherine was a teacher who spent most of her career at Barnstable - West Barnstable Elementary School until her retirement. 

She loved teaching, cooking, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandson. 

Survivors include her children, Christopher Foley and his wife Michelle of Weymouth, Susan  Foley of Marstons Mills, and Lisa Leduc of Barnstable, her sister Diane Burns of Greenfield, MA, and her grandson Tommy Leduc Jr. as well as her beloved dog Mr. Beasley. 

Visiting hours will be on Friday March 9, 2018 from 4-7PM in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd Marstons Mills, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 10 at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Ave. Osterville, MA. Burial will follow in Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Ave. Cotuit.
