Kurt T. Jensen

JENSEN, KURT – Our beloved Kurt T. Jensen passed away peacefully with the sunset on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in his home on Cape Cod, with his loving family by his side. He was 72.

Kurt was born in Meriden, CT, the son of George and Miriam Jensen. He grew up with his brother Bruce, who married Bette and had sons Bryan and Barry Jensen of Bordentown, NJ. He was previously married to Jeanne Glennon Jensen of Canton, MA and raised daughters Lenore and Lisa in Middletown, CT. His entire professional life was spent proudly running the family business, Jensen Fabricating Engineers Inc., of Berlin, CT, until his retirement at age 67.

Kurt and his wife of 21 years, Stephanie Fuss Jensen, made their home in Middle Haddam, CT where they enjoyed the scenery of the Connecticut River. Kurt later fulfilled his lifelong dream, purchasing a second home on Cape Cod. He and Stephanie were delighted to make memories boating on “Salty Paws” together with their family and friends. Kurt was the proud father of Lenore Jensen Clark and her husband Steve of Wolfeboro, NH; Lisa Jensen Jaffe and her husband Mike of Newbury, MA; Caitlin Donohue of Somerville, MA; and Diana Donohue of Brooklyn, NY. He relished the role of grandfather to Spencer and Melinda Clark of Wolfeboro, NH. Kurt enjoyed the company of dogs, and loved his many pets over the years. His two cherished Golden Retrievers, Barney and Tucker, were also with him at the time of his passing.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Mashpee Congregational Church (259 Shore Drive, Mashpee, MA) with a reception to follow at the Popponesset Inn (252 Shore Drive, Mashpee, MA). We also welcome warm memories and happy stories to be left on this website. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which took such great care of him, or to Hartford Hospital, where he had the heart transplant that gave us 24 more years together with him.
