Leonard J. Cullen

Leonard J. Cullen, 89, of Centerville and The Villages, FL, died at home in Centerville surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Mary F. (Tinsley) Cullen.

Born in Morristown, NJ, Len was the son of the late Leonard and Rose Cullen. Len spent his childhood in Boonton, NJ. Upon graduation from Tufts University Dental School he served in the US Navy and was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Then, Len established his dental practice in Oradell NJ which he maintained for nearly forty years. It was there that he raised his four children with his wife, Marilyn. Len had always been an avid golfer. In New Jersey, he enjoyed his membership at Hackensack Golf Club. Upon retirement to Cape Cod, he quickly became part of the fabric at Cummaquid Golf Club where he would regularly play golf and cards with his friends. Len will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit and infectious laugh.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Brian Cullen and his wife Heidi of Ocean City, NJ, Maureen Cullen and her husband Greg of Wood-Ridge, NJ, Eileen Cullen-Weber and her husband Michael of Barnstable, MA, and Gary Middleton of Fort Lee, NJ, long time partner of Matthew Cullen. His step children include Maureen Rischitelli and her husband Kenneth of FL, Kevin Tinsley and his wife Joan of Shrewsbury, MA, Beth Walsh of Centerville, MA and Kathleen Gillis and her husband Matthew of Norwood, MA. He also leaves seven grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Marilyn, his son Matthew, and his sisters Claire Motroni and Virginia Lombardi.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday February 16 from 4-7 PM in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Route 28, Marston Mills, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday February 17 at 10AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Ave. Osterville, MA. Burial will be in St Francis Xavier Cemetery.
