Leonard Rolland Walker

Centerville – Leonard Rolland Walker, 90 died peacefully at his home on July 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Born August 25, 1928 in Carthage, IL to Wendell I. and Mary Ellen (Perry) Walker. Leonard married Dorothy Margaret Ledbetter on June 5, 1954. Leonard and Dorothy resided on Cape Cod for 49 years.  He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce.  During his career he worked as an aviation mechanic and flight chief, and was stationed at many Air Force bases around the world.  He retired after 38 years of service as a Master Sergeant for the 102 Fighter Wing at Otis Air Force Base.   Leonard was a long-time member of the Hyannis Elks Lodge.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughters, Paula Richard and husband Bill and Mary Ellen White and husband Buzzy; grandchildren Matthew White and wife Cailin, Luke White and wife Kelly, Ryan White, and Liz D’Olimpio and husband Justin; great grandchildren, Emma, Casey, Livia, Mayah, Adam, Walker, Brett and Elowen.  The family wishes to express thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association and especially to Gwen and Natalia, our angels on earth, for the many years of care and compassion that they provided.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Cape Cod Healthcare, Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice, 255 Independence Dr., Hyannis, MA  02601.

Calling hours will be Monday, July 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills. Burial will take place at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
