Lillian M. Winters

Lillian M. Winters, 92, of Hatchville, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully at Royal Megansett Nursing Home on October 2, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas J. Winters and daughter of the late Mousa and Esma Homsy.
Lillian and her parents owned and operated a family grocery store in Dorchester for many years. She was a parishioner and attended St. Mary Syrian Orthodox Church in Cambridge. In her earlier years she was a skilled craftswoman. She enjoyed crafting rugs, ceramics and ornate pillows. Her most enjoyable moments however was spending time with her family at the Webster Lake family cottage. She was a wonderful host to family and friends at the cottage especially on holidays. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Lillian is survived by her son William Winters and wife Barbara of Hatchville, her daughter Carol Winters of Wrentham, her granddaughter Kelly Winters of Wareham and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Elias Homsy, Olga Homsy, Emily Detert, Jimila DiFranza, and Leo Homsy.
A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave (Rte 151) Mashpee on Friday October 4, 2019 from 11:00am to 12:30pm. A service will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45pm.
