Linda Ames-Weiner

Linda Deisroth Ames Weiner, 74, died at her home in East Falmouth, MA surrounded by loved ones, at 8:36 a.m., April 9, 2017.  She was born November 12, 1942 in Hazleton, PA to Philip M. and Grace M. Deisroth. She was the wife of the late Arthur Weiner of Falmouth and the late Ronald F. Ames of Waquoit.

Linda worked as Treasurer for District Attorney Michael O’Keefe for almost 15 years and was previously Head of the Republican Town Committee.  Linda was a compassionate and giving person, going above and beyond to help friends and family or those in need.  Over the years many people entered the realm of her extended family, forging life-long friendships that remain still to this day.

Her hobbies included reading and needlepointing, but she derived the most joy from her friends and family.  Parties, gatherings and impromptu visits became events filled with love, laughter, good food and wine.  Holidays were a special delight for her, providing yet another opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved most.

Left to honor and remember her are daughters Pamela Ames of Connecticut and Elizabeth Rioux of Plymouth, MA; son-in-law Josh Rioux of Plymouth, MA; a brother, Franz P Deisroth of Florida; a sister, Barbara E. Deisroth of New York; best friend, Sylvia Littleton of Connecticut; extended family in Germany and many close friends.  She is also survived by her beloved dachshund dogs, Johann and Gunther.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, MA.  Visiting hours are omitted and burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, “In Memory of Linda Ames-Weiner”, to the East Falmouth Public Library, 310 East Falmouth Highway, East Falmouth, MA 02536.
