Luella Hallas

On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Luella Hallas, died in Falmouth at the age of 84.

In her younger days, she was an avid folk dancer and participated in many folk dance festivals in California. Although she didn’t continue dancing after moving to Massachusetts and having a child, she continued to love Russian and Eastern European folk music.

While struggling to survive as a single working mother she volunteered a lot of time and served on the boards of non-profits including Cape Cod Child Development and the Woods Hole Community Association.

She is survived by her daughter, Nuala, and grandsons, Owen and Ben.

A memorial will be held at Fisher Hall, Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole on July 13 at 10:00 am.

Donations in memory of Luella may be made to the Woods Hole Community Association, Box 327, Woods Hole, MA 02543.
