Madeline Leahy Groark

Madeline Leahy Groark, age 84, of Centerville, MA and Naples FL, formerly of Fairfield, CT, died on June 25, 2018 peacefully surrounded by her family in her home.

Madeline was born on August 17, 1933 in Fairfield, Connecticut to the late Madeline Cox Leahy Bigham and William Leahy. She was a graduate of Lauralton Hall and the College of New Rochelle. Madeline was married to the late Owen James Groark for over 50 years until he passed in October, 2007.

Madeline had a successful antique and decorating business for over forty years. In 2004, after living in Fairfield for seventy years, she moved to Centerville MA.

She is survived by three children, Lynn G. Fairfield-Sonn and her husband James of Old Lyme CT, Laura Groark of Centerville, MA and Naples, FL and Jim Groark and his wife Deborah of Pittsford, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren - Anne, James and John Fairfield-Sonn and William and Joseph Groark. Her parents and her sister, Carolyn Leahy O’Leary predeceased her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am on July 14th at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Centerville Library 585 Main Street Centerville, MA 02632 in Madeline’s honor.
