Margaret A. (Shadle) Hacker, of East Bridgewater, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the age of 85. Born and raised in Ogden, Iowa, she was the only child of the late Herma and Guy Shadle.
Margaret met her husband, John F. Hacker, as pen pals, through a railroad enthusiast magazine in March of 1964.During that time she was in Iowa raising her four children while he was in East Bridgewater working for the railroad. In 1967, John went to Ogden and married Margaret. The two then moved to East Bridgewater, where John adopted the four children, which they raised together.
Margaret was a loving, caring, humble, and sweet woman. She enjoyed reading, baking, and was a devout Christian. Above all else, she loved her family. Margaret was a homemaker for years and later worked for LifeLine Trusts & Insurances in Taunton. She was an active member of the North Raynham Congregational. She was also involved in The Lutheran Church of the Way in Raynham, where she was a secretary for over 10 years.

Hacker of Bridgewater, and Mindy H. Perrault and her husband Harold of East Bridgewater. Mother-in-law to Maureen A. Decker and her husband Kurt Decker of Bridgewater. Grandmother of Kimberly, Kylene, Kelsey, Evan, Bethany, Kristen, Steven, Tiffany, Meghan, and the late Patrick. Great-Grandmother of 15.
Family and friends are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Monday January 6th. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm. A funeral home service will begin at 1pm and burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
