FALMOUTH - Margaret Jane Doyle (McClellan), 91, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving children on Monday, February 5th. Predeceased by her husband John P. (Jack) Doyle a native of Falmouth, they married in Taunton, MA on February 3rd, 1951, returning to Falmouth in 1954.
Born and raised in Taunton, Margaret was one of 10 children born to Catherine and Robert McClellan. Margaret leaves behind her sisters Catherine Lamont, 97, and Theresa Poucel, 86; she was predeceased by her sisters Agnes, Bernice, and Patricia and her brothers Robert, George, William, and Brian. Margaret cherished her joyous childhood with her parents and siblings. She was proud of her Irish heritage.
Margaret enjoyed many activities over the years such as volleyball, softball, bowling, and singing. She was a crossword enthusiast and avid reader. Margaret was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella, a CCD teacher, and a member of the church choir. She loved Cape Cod and enjoyed many sunsets over Falmouth Heights Beach.
Margaret enjoyed her eight children and was happiest when in their company. Margaret will be forever loved and missed by her family John Doyle, III (Catherine); Catherine Lyons (David), Stephen Doyle (Teri), Mary Vautour (Al), Jane Boon (Robert), Robert Doyle (Mark), Thomas Doyle (Karen), and Joan Doyle. Margaret was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind, loving nature and her care for those less fortunate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Falmouth Service Center or Falmouth Animal Shelters.
Visiting hours will be from 9:30am – 10:30am on Monday February 12th in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason 475 Main Street, Falmouth, MA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, February 12th in the Saint Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth, MA.
Burial will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
