Margaret J. “Peg” (Grimes) Curran, of Bridgewater, died in her home surrounded by family on February 26, 2020 at the age of 97. She was the daughter of the late Margaret J. (Begley) and Eugene J. Grimes, Jr.

Peg was born and raised in Connecticut until High School, where she then moved to Wollaston, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of the North Quincy High School and after went on to pursue an education in Nursing through the St. Elizabeth’s Nursing Program. Peg worked at Quincy Hospital for years as a Registered Nurse before becoming a homemaker. She married Thomas F. Curran in 1951 and the two lived in Norwell, before moving to Bridgewater to raise their family.

After her kids became teenagers, Peg went back to work at Lakeville Hospital where she worked helping children. Peg lived a full life most of us can only hope to achieve. Married 69 years and raising a family of four she still had patience and energy to spare. She helped raise three grandchildren and was active at Church and with the Girl Scouts.

Peg was the loving wife of Thomas F. Curran, Jr. Mother of Thomas F. Curran III and his wife Cheryl of Tennessee, Robert J. Curran of Connecticut, Margaret M. Curran of West Bridgewater, and Patricia J. Curran and her husband Aaron of Connecticut. Grandmother of Breandan, Meghan, and Shane. Great-grandmother of Raegan. Sister of the late Eugene J. Grimes III.

Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, March 1 st from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 2 nd at 10:00AM at St. Thomas Aquinas, 103 Center St, Bridgewater. Burial will be held immediately following at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
