Margaret Sullivan (née Mulvehill), 90, died at home in Brewster, MA on May 17, 2020. Margaret was born on August 31, 1929, and grew up in Westwood, MA. She married Paul F. Sullivan in 1951, moved to Worcester and continued her work as a lab technician. Upon starting a family she was a homemaker and ardent volunteer. She first came to Brewster in 1945 as a babysitter, then in 1956 she and Paul bought a beach house where the family enjoyed many summers. Margaret and Paul retired to Brewster full time in 1994.
Outside of caring for her family, her passion was “people”. She never met a stranger and embraced all in friendship. She loved her kitchen and was well known for her cooking and baking amongst her family and friends. In particular, she will be well remembered for her Beach Plum Jelly, Irish Soda Bread and Cranberry Sauce with cranberries direct from the local bogs. In Worcester, she volunteered in the community, schools and St. Vincent’s Hospital. In Brewster, she was an enthusiastic volunteer at Our Lady Of the Cape Catholic Church and the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Paul and her beloved sister and brother-in-law Mary C. and Thomas R. Donelin, and nephew Thomas R. Donelin, Jr. She is survived by her three children: Michael Sullivan and his wife Nancy, of Brewster and Estero, FL; Jacquelyn Finley of Brewster and Flagler Beach, FL; and Jean and her husband Jeff Piazza of Wellesley and Brewster. She is also survived by her greatest treasures, her grandsons Tyler J. and Michael H. Piazza. She is survived by her brother, Rev. John R. Mulvehill of Falmouth and recently Cohasset; and nieces Patricia Donelin, Kathryn Donelin, Clare (Kevin) Mazza and their daughters Bridget, Emily and Grace.
A funeral Mass will be held at a later date at Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church, Brewster, and internment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA..
