Marilyn R. Peirce

Marilyn R. (Davis) Peirce, 88, of Bridgewater died on August 8, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.  She was the loving wife of Chester F. Peirce, Jr. of Bridgewater and daughter of the late Charles and Rosalie (McCormack) Davis.  Marilyn was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, shortly after working as a secretary at MIT.  She married her husband Chet, 66 years ago on June 7, 1952.  After staying home for a few years and raising her kids, she worked at Brockton Hospital, and then as a Librarian’s Assistant at Bridgewater-Raynham prior to her retirement.

Marilyn’s devotion and love for her family was her top priority.  She had a great love for fishing, all wildlife and the outdoors.  Marilyn and Chet, along with their family spent many summer vacations in Maine catching small mouth bass.  She was charitable, giving and kind to all.

In addition to her husband Chet, Marilyn is survived by her Daughter, Karen Peirce of Wareham and her son, Michael Peirce and his wife Sue of Georges Mills, NH; grandmother of Melissa Wieters and her husband David and Christopher Peirce; great grandmother of Brannon Wieters; sister of Charles Davis, Jr.  She is also survived by her niece, Debbie Peterson and her husband Dana and her nephew, Kevin Davis.

Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on August 13, 2018 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater at 11 AM.  Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

Visiting hours will be from 3-6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater, MA 02324.
