Marjorie M. Hayes

Marjorie Meyerstein Hayes, 89, of Falmouth, MA, died at home on November 27, 2018, after a brief illness.

The oldest of two children, she was born in East Orange, New Jersey on October 30, 1929, to Anthony and Margaret O’Connor Meyerstein and was raised in Short Hills, NJ.  She attended The Oak Knoll School and Rosemont College and was married on July 7, 1951 to Charles Hartkoff Hayes, who predeceased her on July 4, 1986. Before settling in Falmouth, MA, Marjorie also lived in Summit, NJ, on Martha’s Vineyard Island, MA, and in Greenville, DE, for many years.

She is survived by her sister, Antoinette Meyerstein Cavanagh (Bart), of Media, PA; and 10 children: Charles H. Hayes (Lynda), of Hingham, MA; Richard A. Hayes (Catharine), of Haverhill, MA; Laurance P. Hayes, of Hancock, VT; G. Michael. Hayes (Kathy), of Stratford, CT; Leslie Hayes McCall (Rick), of Dallas, TX; A. Patrick Hayes (Elaine), of South Natick, MA; Marjorie K. Hayes, of Oak Bluffs, MA; Cynthia Hayes Furtado (Tom), of Falmouth, MA; Meredith Hayes Goldthwait (John), of Oak Bluffs, MA; Beverly A. Hayes, of Evanston, IL; plus 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

Services will be private.
