Marlene F. McAndrew

1934 ∼ 2018

FALMOUTH - Marlene F. (Lawton) McAndrew, 84, passed away on October 1, 2018 after a brief illness.  Marlene was born in New York where she was an elementary school teacher.  After a lifetime of vacationing in Falmouth, she permanently moved there in 1989 and was a substitute teacher in the Falmouth Public Schools.  She was a long time member of the Falmouth Stamp Club and loved walking her Irish Setters.  

She was predeceased by her loving husband A. Martin McAndrew, her parents James and Florence Lawton and her sister Virginia L. (Al) Heill.  She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses Maureen (Wade) Blanchard of Sharon Springs, NY, Geraldine McAndrew of Hanson, MA, Eileen (Daniel) Smith of Franklin, MA and Kevin (Stephanie De Mello) McAndrew of New Bedford MA.  She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Michelle Blanchard of Dubuque, IA, Catlyn Blanchard of Binghamton, NY, Daniel Blanchard of Burlington, VT and Catherine Smith of Franklin, MA.  She was very close to her sister’s two daughters Georgette Haydon and Jeanne Briggs and their families.  

A wake will be held on Sunday October 7, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at Chapman, Cole and Gleason, 475 Main Street in Falmouth.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy (Route 28) in East Falmouth followed by a burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
