Martha Julia Frankenberger

1942 ∼ 2019

Martha Julia Frankenberger, 77, died unexpectedly on May 16, 2019, after a brief illness. She was the beloved partner of the late George Henry Provost for 26 years, and the daughter of the late George A. and H. Ursula Frankenberger.

Born in Randolph, MA and raised in Newton, MA she was a graduate of Our Lady’s High School (1959) and Boston City School of Nursing (1962). She moved to California, where she began her nursing career and lived for 13 years before returning to Massachusetts and settling on Cape Cod in 1980. She was a registered nurse in the maternity department at the Cape Cod Hospital for 36 years before retiring in 2016.

She leaves her sister Ann Fardon, brother George Frankenberger, Jr., and sister Mary Louise Remon. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul and John Frankenberger. She also leaves the children of her late partner, Nathan Provost, Karissa Pavlovic, and Kevin Provost; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

Martha and George lived life to its fullest, enjoying friends and family, and traveling. Martha loved sporting activities as both a participant and spectator. She was a member of the Massachussers Ski Club and bowling and softball leagues, and enjoyed the beaches of Cape Cod, golfing, Trivial Pursuit, crosswords, Keno and the Red Sox and Patriots.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 5-7 pm at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 678 Main St. Harwich Center.  Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, June 4th from 10-12 concluding with a service at noon.  Burial will be private.  

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice.
