Mary A. (Luddy) Ahern

Mary A. (Luddy) Ahern, of East Bridgewater, died peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late Michael E. Ahern.

Born December 25, 1934 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late William A. Luddy and Agnes J. (Morrissey) Luddy. Mary was an officer of W.H. Luddy & Son, Inc. throughout its existence. She obtained her nursing degree at Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. She worked as an operating room nurse for over 40 years at several hospitals, most of her career spent at Cardinal Cushing and Carney Hospital.

Mary was a proud life-long member and contributor to the town of East Bridgewater and surrounding communities. She was of quick wit, enjoyed many years of snowmobiling, trips to Disney World, time spent watching her beloved Patriots and above all enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandson.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Michele Ahern; and her grandson, Liam both residing in East Bridgewater. She is also survived by her several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was the sister of the late William Luddy and Paul Luddy.

Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater on Saturday, March 14th at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
