Mary “Dolores” Marshall

1940 ∼ 2020

Mary Dolores Marshall, longtime resident of Falmouth, died at the age of 79 on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Royal Cape Cod Nursing & Rehab Center, Buzzards Bay, MA. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Marshall, who passed away in 2013.

Dolores, as she is known to many, was a 1959 graduate of Lawrence High School, a 1960 graduate of LPN School of Nursing at Cape Cod Hospital, and a 1984 4 C’s graduate where she became an RN.

She worked at Barnstable County Hospital and Falmouth Care & Rehab Center. She also was a teacher for the CNA’s at Falmouth Care & Rehab Center. She retired in 2012.

Dolores was a Eucharistic minister and greeter at St. Anthony’s Church and Falmouth Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making rosary beads. She also enjoyed making hats, lap blankets and prayer shawls for those in need. Playing cards with her friends was also a favorite pastime.

She leaves her 2 sons, Paul E. Skinner Jr. from Kenai, Alaska and James M. Skinner of Carver. She also leaves her 7 step-sons of Attleboro; her brother, Robert Almeida of Carver, her sister Frances Clinton of Palmer and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Monday, Aug. 3rd at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will follow at 11am at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy (Route 28) in E. Falmouth. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. (The funeral Mass will be live streamed at falmouthcatholic.org/live-stream).
