Mary Lorraine Clark Lawrence, a resident of Falmouth, MA, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2018 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Margaret Clark of Medford, MA and her brothers Charles, Edward and Walter Clark. She is survived by her children Kathie Burnett and Jack of Blue Hill, ME, Eileen Lawrence and Tim Wurz of Nashville, TN, Julie McGrath of Falmouth, Joanne Lawrence of Stoneham and Steven Lawrence and Alison of Merrimack, NH, as well as 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Perlupo of Dracut, her brothers James Clark of Melrose, Lawrence Clark of Salem, NH, David Clark and beloved sister-in-law Louise of North Falmouth and dear friend Jean Schaumburg of Falmouth.
Lorraine was born and raised in Medford but moved to Lynn where she was employed at the General Electric River Works Plant for 30 years. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, the Lynn Branch of the Girls Clubs of America, My Brother’s Table and the Harrington Elementary School before moving to Falmouth upon her retirement. In Falmouth she volunteered for several years at the Falmouth Senior Center.
To her family, friends, coworkers and those individuals lucky enough to have known her Lorraine will be remembered for her ready smile, her generous heart and her ability to brighten the day of each person she met.
Visitation with the family will be at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway (Route 28A) on Thursday, September 20th from 4-7 PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 21st at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
