Mary Louise M’Lou Brier

In honor of …

               Mary Louise (Melcher) Brier

M’Lou Brier was born on March 23, 1920 and died on July 9, 2020.

M’Lou was her nickname since high school and during her years of military service.  She was born and raised in Newton, MA., spending summers in So. Orleans, Cape Cod, MA at her grandparent’s home.  The Hammatt home became the starting place of Quanset Camp, that M’Lou loved dearly.  She eventually settled next door to the old camp “Lodge” which had since become her parent’s home.

She served as a WAVE during WWII returning home in 1945.  Through her 100 years, M’Lou had many hobbies: traveling, camping, skiing, hiking, dancing, swimming and sailing.  She was also very creative and loved to weave, paint, sew, quilt and knit gifts for her friends and relatives.  She was also an avid reader.  M’Lou volunteered at the Wellfleet Audubon Society for many years.

Mrs. Brier is survived by 4 daughters: Wendy D. McKay, Sarah B. Delano, Connie D. Delano and Allison N. Brier.  Also by 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 1 ex-step grandchild.

Please consider offering a donation to the Wellfleet Audubon Society or the Orleans Snow Library.

Please be so kind and sign M’Lou’s guestbook.  Thank you.
