Mary R. Fonseca

Mary Rose Fonseca, 94, of East Falmouth, passed away at her home, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Fonseca.

Born in New Bedford, she was a resident of East Falmouth for 90 years. She met and married her husband of 58 years.

She worked in Agriculture, harvesting cranberries and strawberries. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting and gardening.

She is survived by her son, John A. Fonseca, Jr., and his companion, Mona Lisa Reine; her daughter, Elizabeth R. Fonseca, and her companion, David J. Lobo, her granddaughter Larissa Finn and great-grandson, Jayden Finn, both of Falmouth; and brother John B. Lopes of Mashpee.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Feb 5 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM in the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St. Falmouth. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday Feb 6 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy (Rt. 28), East Falmouth. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
