Michael K. Navickas of Marstons Mills died holding hands with his family on August 5, 2019, after complications from surgery. He was the husband of Teresa (Teri) Navickas for 38 years. Michael was the founder and owner of Horticultural Services, a fine gardening and landscaping business since 1987. He also owned Brick Kiln Farm with his wife. Michael was a vocal advocate for healthy living and organic practices, and loved to share his knowledge.
Michael was born in Miami, Florida in 1954 to William and Joan Navickas, later moving to Connecticut with his family. He graduated from East Hartford High School, and received a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Connecticut.
He lived with kidney disease for over 30 years, receiving a kidney transplant from his wife in 2008. He loved the outdoors and always kept his sense of wonder about the natural world, and he enthusiastically shared this energy with others.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Andrew and daughter in law Lindsay, of Falmouth, as well as his siblings Gary Navickas and Lisa Keen of Mashpee, and Susanne and William Rolocut of Marco Island, Florida, and many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
Visiting hours will be held from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, August 13th, followed by a celebration of life at 12pm at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy (Route 28), E. Falmouth.
