Michael R. Pimentel

Michael R. Pimentel of Forestdale died July 12, 2018 in his home in Forestdale at the age of 52. Mike was born in Santa Monica, CA,  son of the late Phyllis L.(Brown) and Philip L. Pimentel. He was raised and educated in Maine, graduating from Cony High School in Augusta, ME and graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a degree in Athletic Training.  He worked at Tufts University for 26 years in various roles in sports medicine including  becoming the head strength and conditioning coach. Mike and his family moved to Cape Cod in 2005. In 2011, Michael founded  Compass Athletics in Sandwich. Mike loved life including kayaking, spending time with family and friends, working in his woodshop, watching his kids do what they love, playing with his dog Tucker and he loved to share his incredible gift of helping others. 

Loving husband of Rhonda L. Pimentel (Sethares) of Forestdale.  Incredible father of Alexander J. Pimentel, Kathryn P. Pimentel and Grace M. Pimentel all of Forestdale. Adoring brother of Dana L. Harrington (Pimentel) and her husband and daughter, Edmund and Emma of Forestdale.  Friend, coach, and mentor to so many others.  Mike always said “Leave everything better than you found it”, he definitely left this world a better place than when he arrived.

Visiting hours will be held in the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Avenue Mashpee (Route 151) Monday July 16th from 4-6pm.

A Service celebrating Mike's life will be held July 29th  at 11:00am at Compass Athletics. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the “Coach P Scholarship of Sportsmanship” c/o The Cape Cod Foundation, 261 Whites Path, Unit 2, South Yarmouth, MA 02664.
