BREWSTER, Michael Thomas Margotta, 61 passed away on April 16, 2020 after fighting a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the son of the late James F. & Sheila A. (Haraden) Margotta formerly of Hingham, MA
He was a graduate of Hingham High School Class of 1976.
Michael was the beloved husband of 35 years to Katie(M. Kathryn Melone)Margotta, loving father to Matthew T.Margotta & his wife Erika of Coppell, TX, Peter J. Margotta & his wife Genna of Harwich, MA and Marie K.(Margotta)DeSola and her husband Frank of Coral Springs, FL. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Mila, Frankie and William. He was the brother of James, John and Paul Margotta, predeceased Carol Margotta, Joan Lescault and Mary Beth Fassnacht He also leaves behind countless other family and friends that were touched by his life.
He moved to the Cape in 1982 and worked for a few local builders for many years until he started his own business and became incorporated in 2006. He loved working with his own crew, all his subs and his clients. He prided himself on the quality and workmanship that he and his crew provided. He truly enjoyed his job and the satisfaction in seeing the finished product! Michael loved working with everyone in the building industry and many became like family to him.
Michael loved all sports. He was affiliated with the Cape Cod Baseball League and on the Board of Directors for the Brewster Whitecaps for many years. While his sons were growing up, he was involved with both Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts and very proud of his two Eagle Scouts. He was a member of the Cape Cod Ski Club. He was involved and proud sponsor of the Nauset Booster Club and sponsor of Lower Cape Pop Warner.
Due to the Coronavirus Epidemic, we are unable to be together at this time. We will have a celebration of his life as soon as it is safe to do so. We would like to thank all those working at Cape Cod Hospital, especially the Emergency, Radiation & Oncology Departments. A special thank you to Dr. Jaclyn Flanigan, Janice, Carol and all the staff that were instrumental in caring for Michael over the years. We also want to thank Margo, John, Kathy and staff from the VNA. You all became apart of our family over these years. Please light a candle in his memory and be kind to one another.
