Nancy M. Kingerlee

1925 ∼ 2020

Nancy Mavis Kingerlee, 95, of Falmouth died June 12th at JML Care Center from complications of COVID-19. She was the widow of John (Jack) W. Kingerlee. They were married for 63 years.

Nancy was born 1925 in Cheshire England, her family then moved to Tal-y-Cafn, Wales where she spent her childhood. She moved to Birmingham during WWII and worked for Cadbury Chocolate until she married Jack in 1953 and immigrated to Ontario Canada in 1957. In 1968 they relocated to East Hartford, Ct where she earned her Occupational Therapy degree. She and Jack retired to Falmouth in 1989.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Wendy Kingerlee of Woods Hole MA, Jan Kelley and her husband Frank Kelley of Braintree MA and Carol Squier of West Hartford CT.  She also leaves 6 grandchildren; Tristan Wickersham and his wife Carly Buchwald of New Bern NC, Hayden Wickersham of Falmouth MA, Cyrus Wickersham of Boston, MA, Kelsey Squier of Charlestown SC, Chris Squier of Philadelphia PA and John Kelley of Boston MA and 1 great-grandchild; Ryder Wickersham of New Bern NC.

She also leaves a niece, and 3 great-nieces in Canada along with many extended family members in England.

Nancy was a devoted grandmother, a kind and loving mother and a caring friend to many. She loved the natural beauty of the Cape, her daily walks, reading and a good cuppa tea. She treasured her family and was an unfailing presence in their lives.

A celebration of Nancy’s life is planned for the summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Charlotte’s Garden - JML Adult Day Care Center, 184 Ter Heun Dr, Falmouth MA 02540. Nancy spent many hours sitting in Charlotte’s Garden during the last 5 years of her life. It was a great source of joy and comfort for her and her family.
