Olive M. (Stackpole) McCarthy

1932 ∼ 2017

Olive Myrtle (Stackpole) McCarthy passed away July 31, 2017 at Cape Regency, Centerville where she'd been in good hands for her last 2 months. Born on January 14, 1932 to Goldie Bertha and Lester Otis Stackpole of Weymouth, MA.  She grew up with 2 older sisters, Elizabeth and Louise who predeceased her. She met and married Robert E. McCarthy and they relocated to Osterville to raise their five children.  She is survived by all her children and their spouses Stephen McCarthy of Marstons Mills, MA, Brian McCarthy of Mashpee, MA,  Joanne Acciaioli of Lincoln, RI, Kenneth McCarthy of Cotuit, MA and Richard McCarthy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.    She also has 8 beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  For many years until retirement she was the 'lunch lady' at the Barnstable High School and was well-known for her great disposition and good food. Olive loved going to craft fairs, knitting afghans for her family and she always had a cat.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Visiting Hours will be 3:00-5:00 pm Saturday, August 5, 2017 at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills, MA.
