Oliver “Butch” Louis Barrows passed away on January 4, 2020 after a brief illness at the age of 59. He was born on October 3, 1960 in Falmouth, Massachusetts to Grace O. Barrows.
A life-long Falmouth resident, Butch graduated from Falmouth High School in 1979 where he was a gifted athlete. He was employed as a foreman by Lawrence Lynch Corp for many years and was a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Union until his retirement in 2011.
Butch was known and beloved by many in Falmouth and Cape Cod. A loving son, father, brother, uncle, and cousin, Butch enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was involved in several local Alcoholics Anonymous groups, where he took pride in inspiring others to reach their goals. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching every game. One of his favorite pastimes was lounging at the beach and taking in the beauty of Cape Cod.
He is survived by his daughters Kelly Barrows of Richmond, VA and Christine Barrows of Portland, OR, sisters Isabelle (Barrows) Morton and husband Jonathan of Mattapoisett, MA, Kimberly Barrows of Merritt Island, FL, brother Douglas Barrows and partner Dee Dutra Boston of East Falmouth, MA, his dearest cousin Priscilla Bazilio of Sandwich, MA, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Grace O. Barrows, brother Darryl Barrows and sister Antoinette Barrows.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Butch's life this Saturday, January 11 at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street in Falmouth, MA. Visiting hours are from 1-4pm, followed by a brief service at 4pm.
