Paul J. Fahey, Jr.

Paul J. Fahey Jr., 82, of Pocasset passed away on Sunday August 11, 2019 after a long illness and is at peace. 

Paul was born to the late Paul J. Fahey Sr. and Agnes R. Kelley on February 28, 1937. The oldest of five siblings, he grew up in South Boston, graduated from the Gate of Heaven School, and Boston College.  He was a proud Irishman.

He began his career at Boston Edison as a mailroom clerk and retired 40 years later as the head of the Plant Accounting Division. Before retirement Paul and Marie moved from Quincy MA.

Paul married the love of his life A. Marie Cantara on November 19, 1960. From that union he became the father of and is survived by Rev. Theresa M. Stirling of Pocasset, Mary E. Fahey of Amarillo TX, Judy (Fahey) McDonough of Weymouth, and David R. Fahey of Richmond VA.

In addition to his wife and children, Paul is survived by his siblings, James Fahey of Easton MA, Barbara Ann (Fahey) Urbanus of MA, John Fahey of Duxbury, and Karen (Fahey) Morris of Norwell MA. Paul was blessed to have many nieces and nephews.

Grampy as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren, Paul Stirling, Denise Stirling, Brendan Stirling, Karen Stirling, Joseph McDonough and Kristin McDonough. He had 2 great-grandsons Anthony Forgione, and Matthew Stirling.

Friends and family are invited to his visitation at St. John the Evangelist, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset, MA on Saturday August 17th from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will be in the Pocasset Cemetery on Country Road.
