Paul J. Sullivan

Paul J. Sullivan

Paul J. Sullivan, 73, of Cotuit, MA passed away after a courageous three year battle with a rare kidney disease at Cape Cod Hospital on April 8, 2017.

Born in Boston, MA he was raised in Springfield MA and graduated from Westfield State University and earned his MBA from UMASS Amherst.

He leaves behind the love of his life BJ, his wife of 38 years. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Sullivan and his wife Jackie of Jacksonville, FL; his sisters Patricia Newbold and her husband Robert of Newington CT;  Ann Sullivan of Cotuit MA and brothers-in-law Rick Roll, Jon Roll and Bill Roll.  He was predeceased by his parents William J and Elizabeth R Sullivan and his “favorite” brother Mark. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Having started in the banking industry, Paul was a smart and savvy businessman who applied his skills in management and real estate.  He was an expert in land development and permitting, real estate sales and construction.  He established companies that built quality custom homes in both the Berkshires and Cape Cod spanning a 30 year career.

He was a wonderful man, a loyal friend to all that knew him.  He loved Cape Cod and spent many of his favorite times at Dowses Beach sitting listening to the ocean and enjoying his love of fishing -- "Everyday was a good day to fish!". Keeping with his lifelong love of fishing, his goal was to teach young people the joy of the sport.  To that end, donations in his name can be made to Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, P. O. Box 895, Mashpee, MA 02649.

Visiting hours will begin at 12:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April, 12, 2017 at the John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, MA.
