Peter C. Rice

Peter C. Rice, 66, of Falmouth, MA died unexpectedly but peacefully at home on February 14, 2017.

He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 1, 1951 to Charles P. Rice and Joyce M. Rice and grew up living on Uxbridge Street in the Lincoln Street neighborhood of Worcester.  He attended church at Saint Bernard’s parish where he was active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorers.  He graduated from Burncoat Sr. High School and attended a post-high school program at Worcester Boys Trade School in the printing field and went on to work for Clark Mailing Service before eventually making a move to Cape Cod.

At the time of his death he was employed by the Woods Hole Golf Club where he worked for the last 29 years as a greens keeper. He also worked the evening desk a few nights a week for many years at the Falmouth Sports Center. He enjoyed his friends, his work, and his life on the Cape.

He is survived by his wife Monique (Rocheleau) Rice of Falmouth, his sister Patricia Rice (Michael Williams) of Atlanta, GA, brothers Paul (Chris) Rice and David Rice, both of Washburn, Wisconsin, three nieces, one nephew, and one grandniece.

Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth.  A short memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, Feb. 24 at the funeral home.
