Philip Alan Wrye

Philip Alan Wrye, 75, of Sandwich and Concord, passed away peacefully at home, after a long battle with cancer, on August 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Myra (Jennings) Wrye and the son of the late Philip and Julia Wrye and step son of Kathleen Wrye and Leo Sicotte.

Philip graduated from Newton High School and was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also proud of his Lithuanian ancestry and loved to volunteer with cerebral palsy organizations. He worked for Sears automotive service for 28 years, Twin Seafood in Concord, and was an auxiliary officer with the Concord Police Department for many years. He was also member of the American Legion Post #188. He was an avid fisherman and lobsterman and enjoyed watching war movies, baseball, football and hockey, especially his favorite New England teams. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his wife Myra of 52 years, Philip is survived by his daughter Kristin Blume and husband David of Connecticut, his son Philip Wrye and wife Cynthia of Maryland, Brother Frank Wrye of Alabama, sisters Patricia Kennedy and husband Stephen of Billerica, Claire Jean Wrye of Tucson, AZ, 4 grandchildren Matthew and Katie Blume and McKenna and Samantha Wrye, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee, of Friday August 11, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VNA Hospice 434 Route 134 Suite D-3 South Dennis, MA 02660.
