Philip C. Moreau, Jr.

Philip Conrad Moreau, Jr., 63, of Bridgewater passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was the husband of Elizabeth K. Moreau.

Born December 17, 1957 in Needham, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Philip Conrad Moreau, Sr., and Barbara (Sutherland) Moreau. Phil graduated from Newton South High School class of 1975 from there he went on to work in the restaurant industry for 30+ years.

He was very passionate about coaching football for the Bridgewater Badgers for 15+ years. One of his greatest joys was coaching his son Justin and his daughter Jessica when they played for the Badgers. He was also a coach for the town of Bridgewater basketball, baseball, and softball.

Phil was affectionately known by his family as “FiFi”. He loved visiting his youngest Jessica in Madison, Wisconsin and lounging by the lake to watch the sunset. He also cherished spending time with his daughter Alexandria and granddaughter Mia. Mia and FiFi (Phil) often spent time at Chick-fil-a, making Tik-toks, and taking walks. When Justin returned from Iraq after serving in the United States Marine Corps. his father was instrumental in helping him adjust back to civilian life. They shared a passion for gardening and sports.

Phil is survived by his  wife of 41 years (November 25, 1979) Elizabeth K. Moreau; his beloved children, Alexandria Chaves and her partner Johnny Mello, Justin Moreau USMC Veteran and his partner Shannon Small, Jessica Moreau and her partner Amber Krueger; his granddaughter, Mia Chaves;  his 3 sisters, Jane Moreau and her  husband Rodney, Jeanne Moreau and partner John, Jackie Psikarakis and her husband George; his two sister’s-in-law, Jodi Mendelsohn and her husband Joel of Los Angeles, California and Leora Gershaw of Jerusalem, Israel. He is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, and several extended family members.

Visiting hours with Covid-19 restrictions will be held Wednesday, January 13th from 5:00PM-8:00PM in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street Bridgewater. For those wishing to watch the funeral service the following day via Zoom, please email

A private family Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 14th at 11:00AM, and a private burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater.
