Ralph Moniz

East Falmouth – Ralph Moniz, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017. He was born and raised in Teaticket, the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Couto) Moniz.

Ralph served in the Army during WW II. After the war he worked as a crane operator with his brothers at Falmouth Cement Works in Teaticket for many years. Later, he worked for Hydrodredge Corp. and V & V Construction Company.

Ralph was a proud member of the Midway Trap and Skeet Club for many years. He enjoyed shellfishing, tinkering in his garage and his vegetable garden, which was the envy of his brothers.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Christina (O’Brien) Moniz of Teaticket; his children:  Ralph Moniz Jr. and his wife Joan of Waquoit, Daniel Moniz and his wife Linda of Waquoit, and his daughter Deborah Bowers and her husband William of Mashpee; his grandchildren:  Christy Moniz and Jason Moniz and his wife Crystal; and his great-grandchildren Anthony and Allison Moniz.  Ralph was also predeceased by his brothers, Theophilus Moniz, Joseph Moniz, Gene Moniz, Myron Moniz, Adlein Moniz, Gilbert Moniz, and Gile Moniz, and sisters, Christine Souza and Alice Moniz. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20th at Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy (Route 28), E. Falmouth. Burial to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
