Richard E. Cardin

Richard E. Cardin, 65, of Centerville, MA,  previously of Ludlow, VT passed away September 2, 2018 peacefully at home with family by his side.  He was born May 19, 1953 in Providence, RI, the son of Ernest and Constance Cardin. He is survived by his wife Beth Wannie Cardin of Centerville, MA; Daughter Rebecca Ciufo (Shawn) of San Luis Obispo, CA; Son David Cardin (Tiffany) of San Diego, CA; Stepfather to Jessica Lamothe of Holden, MA; Stepfather to Andrea Comen of Westborough, MA.  Grandchildren Araya Cardin, Courtney, Ryan and Alli Lamothe, his Mother Constance Cardin of Cumberland, RI. Sister Jeanne Beardsworth (Donald) of Rehobeth, MA; Sister Madeleine Guyer of Millville, MA; Sister Bernadette Blais ( Douglas) of N. Attleboro, MA; Brother Michael Cardin (Christine)  of Kissimmee, FL; Sister Denise Ellis of Harrisville, RI; Sister Jeanine Varin of Lincoln, RI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Ernest Cardin and sister Maureen Ferris. He grew up in North Providence, RI and later moved to Ludlow, VT where he lived for over 30 years. He worked 24 years at Imery’s talc mine in Ludlow, and loved his job running heavy equipment along with the many other positions he had there. Later he did odd jobs and built and sold sheds, which he enjoyed. He was not one to sit very long; always busy. He could fix anything and always had a project in the works.  He loved sailing his boat on Narragansett Bay with his friends and family. He enjoyed gardening, travel and experiencing new things. He was very kind to people and would jump to help anyone in need. He loved his family very much and lived life to the fullest.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday September 8th at the family home from 1:00-4:00 pm.
