Richard F. Day

1932 ∼ 2017

Richard F. Day, age 85, of East Falmouth, MA, passed away on Sunday April 2, 2017 at Falmouth Hospital with loved ones by his side after an 11 month long illness with a heart ailment.

Richard was born to the late William and Mabel Day on January 9, 1932 in Gloversville, NY. Richard attended Syracuse University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric and Ademco before retiring to Cape Cod, MA where he worked briefly at Benthos. Settling down in East Falmouth, Richard was known around town for having worked at Falmouth Electric and Eastman's Hardware. He was also an active member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church.

Richard met and married Rena Brown-Day in East Falmouth, where the two shared many great memories. The two were active members of the Church and liked to travel, bike ride and enjoy the outdoors. Richard touched the lives of many with his trademark sense of humor that he maintained until the end.

Richard is predeceased by step son David Brown, and first wife Patricia Day. Richard will forever be remembered by his children Karen Boehme, Barbara Blessinger, David Day, Debbie Blocker, Michael Brown, Linda Kinchla, and of course his loving wife Rena Brown-Day. Richard is also survived by his many grandchildren, Patricia and Virginia Cafferky, Amy and Paul Kinchla, Tonya Hayes and Jason Blocker as well as his sister, Carolyn Day.

Memorial services for Richard will be held at the John Wesley Methodist Church where the family wishes to keep the service private. Donations in lieu flowers can be made to the John Wesley United Methodist Church; 270 Gifford St., Falmouth, MA.
