Richard H. Campbell, age 73, suddenly but peacefully passed away on July 26, 2018 at his home.
Dick as he was affectionately known was the loving son of the late Gordon and Eva (Wallen) Campbell and grew up in East Bridgewater. Dick graduated from East Bridgewater High School, class of 1963 and would marry his sweetheart Sandra on May 12, 1973. Dick was a legend in the kitchen. His reputation as a great cook kept him employed for over 30 years at the Joppa Grille in East Bridgewater and later he worked as a chef and “social director” at MIB in Westwood.
Dick was an excellent singer and was a longtime member of the Pilgrim Festival Chorus. He was highly active with his three boys when they were growing up and was still involved with Boy Scout Troop 39. He was “Mr. Everything” at Elmwood New Church in East Bridgewater where he sang for over 60 years. Dick’s personality could be described as jovial, funny, caring, and playful. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, camping, was the unofficial “Campbell Social Director” and always loved a good fire.
Dick was the loving husband of Sandra J. Campbell of Halifax and father of Matthew S. Campbell and his wife Kimberly of Halifax, Adam J. Campbell and his wife Jennifer of Halifax, and Andrew R. Campbell and his wife Laurie of Rockland. Loving “Papa” of Evan, Nathan, Allison, Katelyn, Olivia, and Henry.
