Robert A. Brown, 67, of East Falmouth, formerly of Stoughton and Rockland MA, died February 5, 2020 surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer. A man of many names: Dad, Bubba, Bob, Rob or Brownie, he had a vibrant and colorful personality that matched his Hawaiian shirts. He was known for his love of sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, boating, fishing and blues music. He was passionate about his views on politics and was an engaging patron of The Quahog Republic Dive Bar. He most looked forward to his summers sitting in his spot at “The Bench” and the annual Lobster Feed with his family and friends. So down to earth, he never wore shoes, unless they were his signature Converse Chucks. However, it was his kindness, generosity and humor that set him apart from the rest of the world. He lived by the motto, treat others how you wish to be treated by them, as a result left everyone he met with a smile on their faces and a feeling of being accepted and loved.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 31 years, Gail M. (Ryan) Brown and his parents, Mary “Marie” A. (Shea) Brown and Norman A. Brown.
He is survived by his loving son Ryan N. Brown and his wife Kristin M. (Lardner) Brown of Forestdale, MA and his 3 adoring grandchildren, Daniel M. McAuliffe of E. Sandwich, Katherine E. McAuliffe of Charleston, SC and Madeline R. Brown of Forestdale.
The middle child of 5, he leaves behind his devoted brothers and sister, David & Judy Brown of Spartanburg, SC, Paul & Linda Brown of Albany, NH, Kenneth & Cathleen Brown of E. Falmouth, Norma Railey of E. Falmouth and his bonus sister Joanne Robinson of Berkley, MA; as well as his loyal sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl & Michael DelGreco of Plymouth, MA and their children Christine (DelGreco) Bisson of Plymouth, MA and Andrew DelGreco of Portland, Oregon.
His list of admiring cousins, lifelong pals, nieces, nephews and caring friends is extensive and although cannot be listed out, is a true measure of what an exceptional man he was and how greatly he will be missed by so many.
Visiting hours will be held from 1-4pm on Sunday, February 9th at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Bob “Bubba” Brown, Sandwich PMC Kids Ride, c/o 12 Old Farm Lane, East Sandwich, MA 02537.
