Robert B. Garland

Robert B. Garland (Bobby), 61, passed away at his home in Falmouth Massachusetts on March 1, 2019.

Bob was born in Ipswich Massachusetts, and grew up in Falmouth.  He was a member of the Falmouth High School varsity hockey team and state champions tennis team in 1973, graduating in 1975.  He traveled to Virginia and taught tennis, then spent a few years in San Diego California where he met his wife Debi.  They returned to Falmouth to raise a family.  Bob worked for several years in auto sales, initially at Clauson Chevrolet in Falmouth and eventually as a manager at Hyannis Toyota. He also owned and operated a parasailing company in Falmouth for several summers.

Bobby loved the ocean.  He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time at the beach with family and friends.  He was also a talented piano and guitar player and liked to jam with his brothers and friends.  His great smile, friendly disposition and larger-than-life personality will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife Debra; his daughter, Amber, and son-in-law Anthony Leathem from Moorhead Minnesota; and his son, Reed, daughter-in-law Shelby and granddaughter, Saylor, from Chandler Arizona.  Also, his mother, Marion Frazer Garland of Falmouth; brothers Doug, Philip, James, and Peter; sisters Patricia, Elizabeth, Carolyn and Amy; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father David and his brothers Jack, Billy and Tommy Garland.

A memorial and celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
