Robert E. Peterson

Robert E. Peterson, of Falmouth, formally of Stoughton, died on March 10th 2017 at the age of 92. Born in Newton, MA in 1924 the son of Niles & Hilda (Johnson) Peterson. He was the beloved husband of Luana D. (Weeks) Peterson for 70 years. 

Bob worked for EEC Swift Co., a family owned business. He graduated from Lawrence HS in 1942. In 1943 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during WWII. He was discharged as a Lt. JG in 1946. He then went to work as a buyer and seller for Forte, Dupee & Sawyer, a Boston wool business in 1947 until his retirement in 1989.

He married Luana D. Weeks in April 1947. They settled in Stoughton where they raised their 3 children before retiring to Falmouth in the early 80's. Bob loved sailing and golf. He and Luana loved to travel and had traveled extensively throughout their marriage. Bob was the junior warden and usher for the Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton and when he moved to Falmouth, he served as an usher and Vestry Committee member at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Falmouth.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his three children: David A. Peterson and his wife Denise of Stoughton, Marianne Niemiec of Easton, and John Peterson and his wife Tina of Narragansett, RI. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and many extended family. He was predeceased by his siblings: Niles Peterson, Carol Peterson, and Janet Noonan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 91 Main Street, Falmouth.
