Robert J. Duffany, 55, of East Falmouth, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 28th of complications from diabetes.

He was born in Falmouth to Vincent Duffany (deceased) and Margaret (McAdams) Duffany of Falmouth. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three children: Alicia Duffany of Goose Creek, SC, Robert Duffany (Ashley) of Taunton, and Vincent Duffany of Falmouth. He was the brother of 8 siblings and their spouses:  Christine Laughead (Patrick), the late Patricia Dutra (Philip), Michael Duffany (Christy), Mary Belanger (Dennis), Stephen Duffany (Nancy), Timothy Duffany (Suzanne), Paul Duffany, and Joseph Duffany; all of Falmouth. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Robert proudly served in the Navy Reserves in a construction battalion. By profession he was a skilled craftsman and carpenter. He was a jack-of-all-trades, a true “MacGyver”. He was a devoted family man; generous and always willing to help anyone in need. He had an infectious chuckle, and was known for his storytelling. Robert will also be remembered for his quick wit and distinct love of music.

Visiting hours will be held from 1-4pm on Sunday, Feb. 2nd at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Feb. 3rd at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial is private.
