Shirley A. Towne

Shirley Towne, 85, passed away on May 30, 2018 at the Falmouth Hospital.

Shirley was born in Norwood, MA a daughter of the late Philip and Mildred Johnson. Following the death of her parents at a young age, she “adopted” and raised her two brothers and sister in the family home. Shirley always gave of herself and everyone loved her. She was a devoted volunteer at Norwood Hospital and she was a founding member of the Sight Loss Volunteer group. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth Towne; siblings, Philip (Butch) Johnson, David Johnson, Barbara Gaetani and Betsy White.

Survivors include her children, Marcia Towne, James Towne and his wife Maura, Cheryl Towne, Scott Towne, Kenneth Towne, Jr and his wife Lisa; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10 AM at the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 270 Gifford Street, Falmouth. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 PM.
