Stephen Wesley Lewis

Stephen Wesley Lewis was born on July 15th, 1940 in Boston, MA.  The only child of Elsie Lewis.  As a child, he was educated in Oak Bluffs, before finishing out his schooling in Boston, MA.  Stephen was married to Darlean Lewis of So. Weymouth, MA they divorced some years later and never remarried.  Stephen lived on the island for close to fifty years and had his own landscaping business for many years before retiring in 2007.  He had a love for adventure and for his 77th birthday, he and Kevin went on a Six Flags adventure, riding three different roller coasters and other rides, crossing this wish off of his bucket list.  

A forty year member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he attended every meeting possible and served as sponsor for many friends. 

Seven days beyond his 80th birthday, Stephen enjoyed his day of birth with ten of his family and friends, including four grandchildren.  He was survived by his children Darrell Nelson, Kevin Lewis, Bryan Lewis (deceased) and Amy Landers and nine grandchildren.   Service will be held on Saturday, August 1 at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Pacific Ave., Oak Bluffs (across from the OB public library) at 10am sharp officiated by the Reverend Deon Thomas.
