Susan (Sikorski) Pennington, 73 died on October 9, 2020 of a sudden and brief illness. Susan was born in 1946, Milwaukee, to Vernet Helen (Thompson) and Roland Sikorski. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Pennington and Marc Pennington of Falmouth, her brothers Jack (Alisa) Sikorski, Dallas; Greg Sikorski, Arizona; and Andrew Sikorski, Milwaukee. She was predeceased by her brother Russell Sikorski.
She received a B.A. and an M.A. in Art History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 1976. She worked at the Milwaukee Art Museum, and her family moved to the Cape in 1976 for her former husband Michael to accept a position as a mathematician at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). She was one of the original teachers at Falmouth Academy and also taught at Cape Cod Community College. She was presently teaching Art Appreciation at the Cape Cod Conservatory, Beebe Woods and West Barnstable. Her dedicated students appreciated her expertise and enthusiasm.
She had a beautiful singing voice and was a talented organist. She played and sang at many weddings and funerals and other services at local parishes for many years. She worked as an administrative assistant at MBL, the Ecosystem Center, and for the Biological Bulletin. She was the director of the Osterville Historical Society, 1999-2001.
Susan was a member and served on the boards of the Falmouth Interfaith Choir, Woods Hole Historic Museum, Neighborhood Falmouth, and the Katharine Lee Bates Statue Fund Committee.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7th from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy, Route 28A West Falmouth followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm in the funeral home.
