Thomas Daniel Stavris

Thomas Daniel Stavris, 78, of Dennis, MA, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was born in South Boston, MA to the late Daniel and Jenny (Christo) Stavris.

Thomas attended Boston University where he met the love of his life, Aurora Ann Stavris. They raised their children in Enfield, CT where they resided for 49 years. In 1995 they built a home in Dennis and became full-time residents 3 years ago. He retired as an Aeronautical Engineer after a 35 year career with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford CT.

Thomas was a member of St. Luke's Greek Orthodox Church in East Longmeadow, MA. Thomas loved gardening, baking and walking on the beach. Above all else, he loved his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Thomas was a loving husband of the late Aurora Ann Stavris for 52 years. He leaves his sister Gloria Lipa; his loving daughters Susan "Susie" McCarthy (and husband Steve) and Barbara Ann Stavris, his adored grandchildren Leah Jeanna Vaillancourt, Luke John Vaillancourt and his cherished great-granddaughter Veronica Jeanna Carballo.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 18th from 9am to 10am at St. Luke's Greek Orthodox Church, 400 Prospect St., East Longmeadow, MA 01208. Funeral services will directly follow at 10am. He will be buried next to his wife at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis.  A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 19th at 1 pm at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Route 134, South Dennis.
