Todd N. Undzis,PE, of East Taunton, passed away on February 13, 2021 after succumbing to a brief illness at the age of 49. Todd was born in Stoughton and was raised in Bridgewater where he graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, Class of 1989. Continuing his education at Northeastern University in Boston, Todd completed his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering several years later.
Todd immersed himself into his work as a Civil Engineer for a reputable 25 years until he landed his current position as a Project Manager at Beta Group Inc. in Rhode Island. He took pride in his work and loved sharing his knowledge with whoever was willing to listen. Todd made sure to share his accomplishments with his children so they may better understand that hard work and dedication are valued traits in the workplace.
Todd didn’t have a large social media presence; however his Stripers Online page was a constant in his life. He spent his time online reading about the hot spots where the fish were biting and would bring his children to share the experience. Sometimes it seemed as though he and the kids caught all the fish in the water, while other times they left emptyhanded. This past summer, Todd brought his two youngest sons shark fishing and ended his dry spell by catching/releasing their first shark. He was also an avid hunter and loved showing his children all the places he hunted with his father.
While attending BRRHS, he was a soccer player and his love for the game was undeniable. All of his children played for the Taunton League and Todd enjoyed sharing with his children the tricks that he used while on the field. Todd took so much joy being on the sidelines to support and cheer on his children in the different sports they were involved in. Eventually, he got tired of the sidelines and decided to commit to becoming a baseball coach for his youngest son’s 2020 Championship Babe Ruth and Fall Ball teams.
Vacations with the family were important to Todd. He would take pride in researching places to travel and things to do that would make the trip all that more special. His favorite places to visit included Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios in Florida, as well as Atlantis in the Bahamas. Spending quality time with his immediate family was important to Todd but getting the whole family involved only excited him more.
Todd greatly enjoyed spending time with friends, old and new. Taking day trips and planning overnight trips with the “gang” was a crucial pastime to escape the stress of everyday life. Whether having them over for dinner, going out for a bite to eat at a restaurant, game night at a friends or hanging out by the fire, so many special memories were made and will be treasured by all.
